Into The Arena - Without This You'll Never Change

Into The Arena

With Mike Schiff

How many times have you said or heard someone else say something like this:

"I just don't know why I feel so tired all the time..."

or

"I can't figure out why I can't lose this extra weight around my belly..."

If I had a dollar for every time I heard one of those from people around me.

What's the missing piece?

Check out this quote for the answer:

"To become different from what we are, we must have some awareness of what we are." - Eric Hoffer

Most people are completely lacking in awareness.

And therefor, they can't see where they are making mistakes, which means they can't change their lives.

But now the million dollar question, how do you develop awareness?

Well I believe there are 3 key areas where we need to be self-aware.

Mind. Body. and Spirit.

But there are 2 common ways to become self-aware in all 3 areas.

  1. Journaling
  2. Being surrounded by community

Write down what you're consuming, how you're feeling, what you're grateful for.

Journaling is an amazing tool for understanding why you are the way you are, whether that's your fault or not, which then allows you to think about what you need to do to change it for the better.

And then having a solid support system around you to give you feedback.

None of us operate in silos.

We need to know if what we are saying makes sense.

And having a community of like-minded folks to bounce ideas off of and to hold a mirror up for us to see ourselves how others see us can be the catalyst you need to make the change for good.

Is awareness on your radar? Something you think about ever?

Thanks for reading and God bless.

Into The Arena With Mike Schiff Recently I was feeling overwhelmed, stressed, and anxious about a situation in my personal life. I kept thinking about how bad the situation was. Paralyzed by my fear and how big I had made it in my head... Then I realized something I wasn't looking at the facts. I was letting my subjective beliefs about the situation make it worse than it actually was, or needed to be. Was it less than ideal? Sure (depending on your ideal) Shifting my perspective from what I...

Into The Arena With Mike Schiff Yesterday, I wrote a thread on X (still weird to call it X instead of Twitter) about building discipline to master your own life Check it out here And while I do think the ultimate goal is to build discipline and become a disciplined man/woman There's also a need for willpower What the hell is the difference? Willpower is your ability to resist short term temptations with your long term goals in mind. Being disciplined means creating structure and routine to...

Into The Arena With Mike Schiff Life is full of challenges, setbacks, and downright difficult moments. It's easy to get discouraged, to want to throw in the towel and give up. I've been there... But what if I told you that those "sucky" times are actually your greatest opportunities for growth and transformation? Welcome to the arena, my friend. This is where champions are forged - not in the moments of ease and comfort But in the crucible of adversity. See, the truth is, adversity is a gift....
